Functionalization of polymer microspheres using click chemistry.

We describe a new method to covalently link a wide variety of molecules to the surface of colloidal polymer microspheres using the Cu(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne reaction, most commonly known under the class of reactions identified by the term click chemistry. The method is generic and readily applied to a spectrum of colloidal particle systems allowing surfaces to be tailored with virtually any ...

Surface Functionalization of Exosomes Using Click Chemistry

A method for conjugation of ligands to the surface of exosomes was developed using click chemistry. Copper-catalyzed azide alkyne cycloaddition (click chemistry) is ideal for biocojugation of small molecules and macromolecules to the surface of exosomes, due to fast reaction times, high specificity, and compatibility in aqueous buffers. Exosomes cross-linked with alkyne groups using carbodiimid...

Functionalization of polymers with phosphorescent iridium complexes via click chemistry.

We report a simple yet highly efficient route to prepare polymers with a variety of pendant iridium complexes as potential materials in organic light-emitting diodes by employing click chemistry.

Facile double-functionalization of designed ankyrin repeat proteins using click and thiol chemistries.

Click chemistry is a powerful technology for the functionalization of therapeutic proteins with effector moieties, because of its potential for bio-orthogonal, regio-selective, and high-yielding conjugation under mild conditions. Designed Ankyrin Repeat Proteins (DARPins), a novel class of highly stable binding proteins, are particularly well suited for the introduction of clickable methionine ...

Versatile post-functionalization of the external shell of cowpea chlorotic mottle virus by using click chemistry.

We present the modification of the outer protein shell of cowpea chlorotic mottle virus (CCMV) with linear and strained alkyne groups. These functionalized protein capsids constitute valuable platforms for post-functionalization via click chemistry. After modification, the integrity of the capsid and the reversible disassembly behavior are preserved.
